The Final Cut

So our first mobile video was shot, cut and edited in one day! Residents of Muizenburg were treated to some baffling sights, strangely garbed guys running around filming each other with their phones, strapping a phone to the front of their car and leaning out of windows while on the move to get the perfect shot. The result is very pleasing!

that cool mobile video

yep...I dig it, track sounds great and I think this will inspire guys to be more creative with their mobiles. The only downfall is that annoying telephone ring in the background at the end. I personally know the phone that makes this sound and it does not deserve any marketing whatsoever, there are cool phones (http://www.bang-olufsen.com/page.asp?id=49/) and there are phones that need to be thrown off balconies.

Ring tone

The intention was to shock the viewer at the end. Make them try answer the phone maybe.. Not throw it off a balcony! But since your link leads nowhere, I have no idea what your alternative could be.

PS- It's the extra / at the end that does it. Here is the correct link http://www.bang-olufsen.com/page.asp?id=49

Very cool! Strapping a phone

Very cool!
Strapping a phone to a tripod - i know the feeling, its not easy! You have to do it in such a way so that you can still at least press the camera shutter. It sucks when you realise u have to access the menu but its been taped or wired over!
I see you've been influenced by that French guy on youtube, cool idea!

True True

Think thats hard, try strapping one to the front of a car and still managing to take video even though you can't see the screen. Our first few tries buttons kept getting pressed on the move.

Yeah the French dude... We like...

The Basics

When you're dealing with a web of elastic bands and string, making buttons accessible can be a bit tricky. Don't forget to keep your eye on the lens though! We lost the original "L-I-V-E" sequence (the original stop-frame footage was taken on the beach) because a pesky elastic band was partially covering the lens.

We didn't notice the brown blob on the mobile screen/viewfinder (it was a bright day and the sun was low) but it looked nasty when everything was uploaded and we settled down to edit. Fortunately there was a You magazine lying around the office (guilty party please own up and claim your shredded property) and the "ransom note" intro provided another level of media variety...
